Smartlipo liposculpture resolves many of the problems associated with breast reduction. The procedure is performed in our state of the art surgical facility under local anesthesia or twilight sleep depending on the patient’s preference. Tiny incisions are made beneath the breasts and sometimes below the armpits. Often these incisions heal without visible scarring. Fatty tissue is removed from the breast and most patients experience a reduction of one cup size, although cup size will vary depending on the bra that is worn. The laser tightening that is part of the procedure assists the shrinkage of the skin that is necessary for the breasts to reduce in size. Typically breasts will rise though nipple position will not, and the elevation and firmness of the breasts that can be achieved with surgical excision will not be achieved with liposculpture. Costs are generally significantly reduced when compared to excisional techniques.
