Education, Training, and Experience is essential when choosing a surgeon. MetropolitanMD boasts one of the most established and respected cosmetic surgery centers with real cosmetic surgeons in the Chicagoland area.
The term Facelift is used to describe a variety of procedures that are performed to enhance the appearance of the neck, jaw line and cheeks. Many factors determine how a patient ages and how their facial features change over time. Commonly, patients seek consultation because of changes that occur over time. Signs of aging may be noticeable in patients as early as in their late 30's and usually people look more tired than they feel.
Many procedures are performed at MetropolitanMD for improvement of the face and neck. Most procedures are minimally invasive and allow a quick return to normal activities. The goals of surgery vary for each patient but commonly include elevating the neck, sculpting the jaw line, removing excess fat, and tightening loose muscles of the face and neck. Dr. Rachel customizes a treatment plan for each patient depending on the extent of aging changes and the degree of improvement the patient is seeking. All procedures are performed to provide natural, long lasting results which create a more youthful and rested appearance.
Neck Suspension
Procedure Duration
2 Hours

3 - 5 Days
Anesthesia
Local / IV sedation
Patients with drooping necks complain about their appearance, even when their face is relatively youthful. A neck suspension is a minimally invasive procedure in which small incisions are made beneath the chin and behind each ear. A suspension suture is then placed across the neck muscle under the skin to elevate it back to its proper, more youthful position. Incisions often become invisible within months and the procedure can be performed awake or with twilight sleep.
Weekend Facelift

3 Days
Anesthesia
Local / IV sedation
For patients with double chins, drooping necks, and mild jowls a minimally invasive procedure from which they can return to work in 3 days is ideal. Combining liposculpture, smartlipo liposculpture with laser tightening of the skin, and neck suspension suture can resolve all three complaints still using 3 small incisions that are hidden from view. Patients appear refreshed with a simple minimally invasive procedure.
Minilift
Procedure Duration

3 - 5 Days
Anesthesia
Local / IV Sedation
Some patients with early drooping of the face and jowls have only minimal descent of the neck and are excellent candidates for a minilift. A short incision hidden within the recesses of the ear allows Dr. Rachel to lift the muscles of the cheeks and restore a sleeker jaw line. Because of the short incision and well hidden placement scars heal quickly and patients may return to work in 3-5 days.
The S-Lift
Procedure Duration

7 - 10 Days

The S-lift is the modern answer of minimally invasive surgery for patients who previously requested full face lifts with prolonged swelling and healing. The S-Lift, done under gentle twilight sedation, involves making small incisions hidden within the recesses of the ears as well as behind the ears and beneath the chin. Through these incisions Dr. Rachel can elevate sagging facial muscles to restore the normal contour of the neck, jaw line, and cheeks. Not infrequently these procedures can be combined with blepharoplasty, forehead/brow lifts, and lipoaugmentation of the face.
